The Sonnenalp Hotel located in the heart of Vail Village, Colorado is looking for a full-time Employee Dining Room Cook to start right away. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated chef that desires to express themselves creatively. 

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Sonnenalp employee dining facility, Caf Alpina, including the menu design, preparation, cooking, and serving while maintaining the highest sanitation and cooking standards at all times. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and manage the full scope of the Caf Alpina.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete knowledge of kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Know all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Leave work station in a clean and orderly fashion. All foods must be covered and property stored.
  • To be familiar with all kitchen equipment, their functions, and maintenance requirements.
  • Report any wasted food on "waste sheet" located by the Ludwig's kitchen's walk-in.
  • Responsible for cafeteria food set up.
  • Keep Banquet chef updated on any items that need to be used and items that need to be ordered.
  • Work with chef in planning cafeteria menus.
  • Assist with any prep assigned by the Sous chef or lead cook.
  • Keep the Banquet Sous chef on duty informed of any concerns regarding the kitchen operations.
